  • Gel Blasters: Use small, water-absorbent gel balls, also known as gellets or hydrogel balls. These gel balls are soft, non-toxic, and burst upon impact, releasing water.
  • Paintball: Use paint-filled gelatin capsules. When they hit a target, the capsule breaks open, leaving a paint mark.

• Impact and Safety:
  • Gel Blasters: Generally have a softer impact due to the water-filled nature of the gel balls, making them less painful and safer for younger players.
  • Paintball: Typically have a harder impact and can cause bruising or welts, necessitating more protective gear.

• Cleanup:
  • Gel Blasters: Leave minimal mess as the gel balls burst into water and tiny fragments that evaporate or degrade over time.
  • Paintball: Can be messy since the paint needs to be cleaned off surfaces, clothing, and gear after a game.
    
• Equipment:
  • Gel Blasters: Resemble real firearms and are usually battery-powered or spring-loaded. They tend to be lighter and easier to handle.
  • Paintball: Markers are bulkier and can be powered by compressed air or CO2. The equipment is generally more robust due to the need to withstand higher pressures.

• Gameplay:
  
  • Gel Blasters: Often used in more casual, less formal settings, and can be ideal for indoor arenas or smaller outdoor areas.
  • Paintball: Commonly played in organized fields and scenarios with more formal rules and larger playing areas.
